Achievements
EU5 has 50 different achievements, which use the achievements mechanics of the store where the game was bought (Steam, Epic Games, Microsoft Store, GOG). Achievements have no in-game effects; the achievement just pops up in-game and then added to the player's profile in the store frontend.
List of achievements[edit | edit source]

|---|---|---|---|---|
| France and Castile (after annexing Aragon) have enough locations to fullfill the criteria. | H | |||
| Play as Greenland. | E | |||
|
Play as a country with the Empire country rank to have 3 cabinet seats. | E | ||
| Play as the Minor Tribe of Yehe, they are the strongest individual tribe with Jurchen culture. Break away from your Jurchen Confederation and wait for the Red Turban Rebellions, which has an event that breaks the Yuan subjugation of all Jurchen tribes. Once you are free, declare war on your former federation leader, Minor Tribe of Hada, and annex all their land to gain access to their Horse and Silver provinces in order to turbo boost your economy. From here focus on conquering as much land and subjugate as many tribes as you can. When you feel its time to fight Great Yuan (they are much weaker than one would imagine since all their vassals are disloyal), simply build a spy network and fabricate a CB to take the Mandate of Heaven and declare a war using that CB, it allows you to take control of the Middle Kingdom through the peace deal. Can be done before year 1450 without declaring a single no-CB war. | H | |||
| Own at least 35 locations producing either: | The Colonizing the gold-producing locations of the East Siberia region, which starts as Terra Incognita, is another option. The very easy way to get this achievement, would be to use the ''Settle Tribesman'' Cabinet Action in the provinces Shilka and Amur(Jing is another one, but with more control) all the way in the North, on the Manchu-Mongolian Region border. Labourers start appearing when the province reaches 500 peasants. This should get you the achievement before the event fires that turns unintegrated Manchuria back to uncolonized. |

|
Weaken Yuán as much as possible before the Red Turban Rebellions situation starts. Afterwards change country to Míng when the option is offered.
Note: in the current version (1.0.10) the achievement is currently bugged, since it checks only for "tag=MNG" rather than "has_or_had_tag=MNG". This means that when finishing the Red Turban Rebellion situation Ming (the "MNG" tag) is no longer eligible for the achievement, since the ending event changes the country to "Great Ming" (the "CHI" tag). The achievement is still possible however if the player manages to conquer the required regions before the 20 years of the RTR expire (Note that East China isn't required) |

In version 1.0.8, do not establish Scandinavia. Because the leader of a religious war must be a member of the Holy Roman Empire, you can move your capital to territory within the Holy Roman Empire, such as Stettin, which will automatically grant you membership. |

Colonization is relatively affordable, but exploration costs are high. Start early to outpace Castile and the Papacy in claiming the Azores and African islands. You cannot explore overseas before Age 3, but you can explore and colonize West African lands.
To strengthen your economy, consider supporting Tlemcen against Morocco and Tunis - this will break the hugbox in the Maghreb and open opportunities for expansion. Castile is not always hostile, so if they are, you can restart until they appear friendly. |

| Build up cities relatively close to your capital and use the Increase Control cabinet action.
A quicker way to achieve this is to annex a lot of capitals at once. This can be done quite easily by starting as Yuan, then switching to a Rebel Country during the Red Turban Rebellion and annexing all the tiny subjects in South China. |

Barlas start provides an event that allows to switch to Timurids. With their unique conquest mechanic it's not a problem to get a big chunk of India. The biggest issue is AE that still fully generates from the occupied provinces.
IMPORTANT: you need to wait until Timur dies and the event Death of Timur (2% trigger after Timur dead, gives 10 prestige) before forming the country. Note that the decision to form it won't show up until you move your capital to Delhi. |

The following subcontinents are not required:
You do not need to own the land, just setting up a oversees trading building is enough for the achievement. |
M | ||
| France, Ashikaga, and Serbia begin with eight or more privileges enacted. Ashikaga is the easiest as they have no vassals, no natural enemies, and receive lots of events that boost Samurai estate satisfaction, Stability, and Centralization.
Due to a quirk in how conditions are checked, the achievement will not trigger if the Nobility estate had less than eight privileges at the time of loading the save, even if it had the required amount at game start. Ashikaga (Japan) has an event in febuary 1338 which enables them to play as a pirate republic completing the achievement. |
