Event
Events are the main type of scripted content in Europa Universalis V. Events are triggered or fired by certain circumstances, such as taking a certain action or accomplishing a certain goal, or semi-randomly by having the correct circumstances be present in a country.
Event mechanics[edit | edit source]
Events are categorized in two types:
- Regular events – these are typically generic in nature, representing a variety of historical or gameplay related happenings.
- Dynamic Historical Events (DHEs) – these are typically specific representations of real-world history or plausible alternate history that can only occur for certain countries.
Most events have multiple options, which represent choices that the country can take in response. Each option may have different effects, sometimes shown, sometimes hidden. Some options only appear if the country fulfills the right set of conditions.
Some options are noted as historical, particularly for DHEs, which indicates which option represents the historical choices made by the country.
